Genesis 2:24 says, “therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife and they shall be one flesh”.
The Lord desires for us all to be happy. The great challenge is however, we are of different personalities and socializations, and our standards and values often differ. So how can we make it last?
Love and respect each other’s individuality.
Show respect for each other’s space.
Respect each other’s opinions, and time.
The most effective way to make it last is the one most of us often refuse to use. “What is that method?” you may ask. Well... ladies...., your job is to make him happy all the time. Not that you will forget about yourself, but your job is to make him happy.
Gentlemen, you don’t smile just yet… do you want to make it work? Your job is to make her happy all the time. You make her happy, she makes you happy, and you both will be happy…
Should you aim to make yourself the center of your happiness, the other person’s feelings will not be the center of your thoughts. Therefore someone will get hurt. Do you want to make it last? Make her happy, make him happy. The Aim is to make each other happy.
